Activities
Some people want to enjoy every day of their holiday to the fullest: hiking, biking, skiing – the main thing is that there is something going on. While others just want escape the stress of everyday life and enjoy the surroundings with all their senses – the main thing is that you find peace and tranquillity. We think a combination of the two makes a perfect holiday!
Here in Hafling, both outdoor freaks and those seeking relaxation and peace feel at home, and that's a promise.

Knottnkino
This hike takes you to one of the most impressive viewpoints in South Tyrol – and this is only a stone's throw away from us! The Renon artist Franz Messner placed four rows of folding chairs on the rocky outcrop (South Tyrolean: "Knottn") Rotensteinkogel between Hafling and Verano, and called this installation the "Knottnkino". This cinema is an absolute must see, showing a different "film" depending on the season…
Merano 2000
In summer, Merano 2000 offers a spacious outdoor paradise for hikers, mountain bikers and families with children. Not only can you expect to find numerous paths and trails here, but also rustic alpine huts and impressive views. However, in winter the area is transformed into an attractive skiing paradise for families. Ski tourers and hikers also get their money's worth.
The Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle
A visit to the beautiful and world-famous gardens of Trauttmansdorff is an unforgettable experience. Only a few kilometres from Hafling, it covers an area of 12 hectares and there are 80 colourful garden landscapes, the "Touriseum" and numerous other highlights for young and old visitors.
Stoanerne Mandln
A hike to the "Steinerne Männchen" is just as much a part of a holiday in Hafling as a trip to the Knottnkino. At 2,000 m above sea level in the Sarentino Alps, this powerful place is easily reached from Verano and is one of the legendary places in South Tyrol. Definitely not one to miss.
Christmas market in Merano
This reflective time in the spa town is distinguished by a traditional (but nevertheless varied) Christmas market, as is familiar to many places in the Alpine region. The colourful and varied events program and the typical specialties and handicraft products attract both guests and locals every year. Experience the Advent season in Merano!
St. Kathrein Church in Hafling
The little church of St. Kathrein is one of the most famous photo opportunities in South Tyrol, both in summer and winter. From Hafling village, it takes only 1 hour to walk there, where you will be rewarded with a wonderful view of the Merano basin and the Texel Group Nature Park. Experience this very special and powerful place in the home of the Haflinger horses.
Carriage rides & horse riding
We offer you the opportunity to experience a carriage ride with the famous Haflinger horses or you can ride them (outside the residence). Experience the beauty of our village and the breathtaking nature. The coachman certainly has a lot of interesting and amusing stories to tell, so be curious!
